May 23, 2007 at 6:05 pm (events, Party Gurl, Rico Suave, school stuff)

sorry this hasnt come sooner but ive been way too busy for my own good! you’d think being a teenager is all fun and dandy,  just full of house parties and countless hours wasted in front of the tv; but that’s not the case when you have a job (the real job, not the secret job)!! anyway, i did get to break away from the working world a couple of weeks ago and i went to my prom. it was at this beautiful hotel here, the Sheraton Cresent. sadly i didnt have a date so i went with Party Gurl and Rico Suave!! my dress was white with black polka dots, it fell right above the knee and had this fishnet lace thingy at the botton to make the dress all poofy! (wow i sure do have a way with words huh!! lol!) there was black lace around the upper stomach area that wrapped around to the back as well. it had one inch thick straps (dont dig the strapless). and my hair was in a million curls of all different sizes. i know that sounds kind of weird but i actually looked cute!! my shoes were all blinged out and the matched my “beyonce bling” i had on my wrist and around my neck!! but let me tell you five minutes into the dance those puppies were OFF!!!!  lol!!!!

i had alot of fun but i wouldnt have minded better music though. i mean the only music djs play at dances is mostly rap. and our prom was no exception!! but this rap wasnt the okay-this-has-a-beat-i-can-follow-without-looking-like-the-hoochies-in-the-videos rap. no this was the type of rap music that sounds like they are speaking in tongues for the holy ghost, except with every curse word you could think of! the kind of songs that you can dance to in your car but when you stand up, your feet have no idea whats going on!!! 😀 needless to say i didnt dance as much as i wanted to. but when i did dance…I GOT DOWN!!! LOL!!!!  no one really expects that from the “innocent girl” but as you and me both know….im not that innocent!!! overall the prom was hot, sweaty, crowded, but it was the most fun ive had in a while!!!

How cute is this?

May 2, 2007 at 11:51 pm (GQ, In the News, Party Gurl, some introspection, TVLand, Uncategorized)

In Yahoo headlines today Disney Unveils social network for preteens.

How cute is this? And I mean that in a purely sarcastic way. So, this is like MySpace Disney, for kids 14 and under.

The preteens.

The preteens who already have a page on MySpace and thirty thousand friends to go with it.

The preteens who already have an up-all-night page on MySpace that are now going to gravitate towards a 9 o’clock-lights-out curfew on MySpace Disney.

Uh. Huh.

Not that I’m knockin’ Disney (love the movies, love the theme parks) or the Disney Channel. Quite the contrary:

“Hello, my name is Draven Atreides and I’m a former That’s So Raven addict. I’ve been clean for three years and counting.”

Notice how we kinda have the same name? Coincidence, I assure you. My stories will end up on the Disney Channel some day–mark my words–and the kidlets will have to get used to a new name…and a new girl. Party Girl, GQ, get your bags packed, cuz Hollywood, here we come!

Blink. Blink. Ahem.

Sorry. Got lost there for a moment. Seriously, I think it’s a great idea what they’re trying to do. What with all the sexual predators trolling through cyberspace these days, parents have to come up with new ways to protect their kids. I just think that when a kid hits the age of 14, it’s going to be all over but the cryin’ and they’re going to want to upgrade to the real deal.

I’m just sayin’.

Come on, come in. I’m on the case.

Taking it on the chin

April 29, 2007 at 12:47 pm (A Royale Pain, agent search, Book One, book stuff, Book Two, celise downs, GQ, Party Gurl, The Company, The Series)

so celise received Rejection #37 yesterday. this was from an agent that requested, like, the first 50 pages or something. the first time. and then she requested the full manuscript!

they passed. it’s not anything she hasn’t heard before, y’know?

“…in many sections, the level of description went too far to keep the novel moving along at the right speed…”

for all you agents out there, she’s working on it. really. but there were some good points, too. she liked me. she really liked me. and she thought Party Gurl and GQ were hysterical. so true. my friends are total riots. but she also thinks celise is a great writer (i do, too. i mean, she wrote about me, didn’t she?) and would be happy to take a second look when it’s been revised. as well as other projects.

like I said, she’s working on it. she knows what has to be done and getting reminder letters about it is probably like tap dancing on a nerve.

in May, she’s going to start writing Book Two. first draft only, of course, and she’s determined to finish it by 11/01. i’ll keep you posted on how she’s doing. its going to be a little difficult for her because she’s not used to deadlines, but she’s going to try real hard. and i’ll help her by kicking her in the boo-tay when she starts slackin’.

ive been so ready for my next assignment to start. i think i did pretty well my first time out, even when i had some unexpected–and unwanted, at first–help. i got to be pampered at a spa for almost a whole day. a high-class spa that famous people visit. they were having some problems, but as you know, i was on the case and wouldnt you know it? problems be-gone.

so, assignment #2. all celise will tell me is that it has something to do with a coffee shop. I don’t particularly like coffee. i prefer tea. chai tea if you wanna get specific. Either way, this should be interesting. hell, i work for The Company. ‘Uninteresting’ is not in their vocabulary.

(rubbing my hands together with glee). im ready, Ms. Author Lady. bring it.

cmon, come in. im on the case.
